THE NEED OF A MEAL DELIVERED TO A SENIOR ADULT

For some senior people, preparing a meal each day can be a very difficult challenge. An older adult may have mobility problems or other health problems that make it uneasy to buy groceries or spend time in the kitchen. As a result, meal delivery services have become popular among seniors who need help with cooked food.

COREFI FEEDS YOU

is a program currently offering meals delivered door to door twice a week for those in need around the island.

OUR MISSION IS ALWAYS TO SERVE, AND IN THE FACE OF THESE NEEDS, WE MUST EXPAND.

OUR IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES ARE:

• Door-to-door visits to identify those most at risk and provide critical services.

• Finish our Community Kitchen

• A new truck to gather supplies from the main island and distribute them in Vieques.

• Distribute food, water and, medicine.

COREFI:

A Vieques, Puerto Rico non-profit organization established in 2008
COREFI is led at the present by Elizabeth Rosario Ortiz a Viequense; and a group of wonderful volunteers from different etnics. COREFI has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service to be a charitable organization
described by section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Tax Code.

We serve those most in need on Vieques: the elderly, the sick, and the disabled.

We are almost 100% volunteer-powered. As our organization, and the needs of Vieques grow, we plan to expand and continue to help lead Vieques by providing all of our people with access to food, medicine, shelter, jobs, and sanitary living conditions. Perhaps most importantly, we believe in the dignity and improving the lives of all the elders in need in the island of Vieques.

We are also partnering with key organizations. Our goal is to leverage our collective strengths.
Support for COREFI’s direct programming remains small and separate from
the funding for these independent programs.
